Our company is currently searching for an open source business intelligence provider that can fulfill our company needs. Our goal is to maintain a collaborative reporting environment that will allow our report developers to generate valuable reports that can be used to help make decisions more rapidly. During our search we came across a variety of companies that offered business intelligence solutions but none fit our needs like Actuate. When I visited the Actuate home page, I came across lots of information about their product line and found some great flash demos of their products in action. During the demos, I noticed how great their data data visualization software was based on the high quality reports that it was creating. Overall, we were quite impressed with their product line and decided to give Actuate BIRT a try and downloaded the trial version of their software. We have assigned our junior report developer to evaluate the product and so far we find it user friendly and easy to use.
